About LinXis

LinXis develops targeted therapeutics for the treatment of fibrosis. The basis of these therapeutics are Fibrobodies®: Small recombinant antibody-like proteins that can shuttle potent small molecules to the activated fibroblasts that are center to the disease.

Our small but multi-disciplinary team is fully self-supporting. Our activities span from early research and development to preclinical and clinical evaluation. Our team comprises organic (radio-) chemists, molecular biologists, biochemists, biotechnologists, and CMC specialists. Our employees are embedded in top-notch laboratories in the Amsterdam UMC (the newly opened Amsterdam UMC Imaging Center) and Utrecht University (Department of Cell Biology).

Our employees are highly motivated and have a strong sense of responsibility. In return, we offer a high degree of freedom in a very dynamic team.

We are currently pushing our lead Fibrobody towards clinical validation in various forms of fibrosis. At the same time, we are diversifying our platform by developing novel Fibrobodies against other potential targets. In this context we are looking for a Conjugation Chemistry Technician.

Job Description

As a conjugation chemistry technician you will be at the heart of LinXis, marrying organic chemistry to biology, in order to establish Fibrobody-tracer and Fibrobody-drug conjugates. You will characterize these conjugates using a variety of analytical methods, ranging from basic protein tests to complex molecular assays and (functional) in vitro models. You will work closely together with all other LinXis sub-teams (organic chemistry, biology, non-clinical R&D, and CMC) and external partners involved in the clinical development of Fibrobody-tracer and Fibrobody-drug conjugates.

Qualifications & Skills

Ideally, you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in organic chemistry and have affinity with organic biochemistry and bio- (macro-) molecules
  • Have hands-on experience and affinity with organic synthesis and biochemical conjugations
  • Have hands-on experience and affinity with (bio-) analytical methods (HPLC, ELISA).
  • Are qualified to work with radioactive materials (Dutch level 5B).
  • Are flexible but also precise, and quality-minded
  • Are interested in working in a small and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
  • Are skilled in chemistry but also interested in adjacent areas like disease biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, and quality systems (GMP).

What we offer

  • The experience to work in a high-energy biotech startup, in a one-of-a-kind research facility.
  • A full-time position (40 h) under a permanent appointment.
  • A competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.
  • 8% holiday allowance, commuting allowance, pension allowance.
